A Time for Change

Maybe I drank the Kool-Aid, maybe not, but the Republican party I grew up to know is on the brink of a change of its own. If the Republican party is truly the party based on the ideals that Reagan spoke about in "The Speech", we'll see soon enough. They'll start working with Democrats to get the nation out of the economic mess we're in, continue to work towards ending our time in Iraq like Bush finally managed with the withdrawl treaty and propose bills of their own while being open to compromise in these scary times. Will this happen? Almost definitely not. Maybe Obama will succede. Maybe he'll fail. Whatever happens, it's undeniable that he has the ability to bring together people of all kinds towards a common goal - his vision. Websites out there are tracking his promises. He won't be able to make every promise come true and his detractors will jump on that every chance they get, but in 4 years we'll be in a better place. Let's just hope that everyone hopes he'll succeed instead of being subversive as the current pattern suggests.
